Garment Care - A Basic Guide

January 31, 2021

Buying clothing of better quality that will last is important. Just as important, is knowing how to properly take care of your favorite t-shirt, hoodie, hat etc. so they remain in great condition, as long as possible. We made this basic guide to help you take care of them. We also break down what the symbols found on the tag of your garment mean.

Washing

In general, washing your garments in cold or warm water with mild laundry soap and hanging to dry is the best way to clean your clothes. More specifically, when washing a garment with a printed graphic, such as our graphic t-shirts, be sure to turn it inside out to avoid any fading of the graphic, as it rubs against other garments.

Headwear such as hats and beanies are best hand-washed with mild soap and laid flat to dry. This ensures that the structure of the hat is maintained.

Drying

Hang dry your clothing whenever possible. Turn bright or dark items inside out to reduce fading. Hang shirts from the bottom and pants from the waistband, so the clothespin marks are in a less obvious spot. If you are using a dryer, tumble dry on low heat to minimize shrinkage.
